Ward Mission Message

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf in his April Conference talk reminds us of the importance of missionary work and how we can be successful:

“Understand that it’s not your job to convert people. That is the role of the Holy Ghost. Your role is to share what is in your heart and live consistent with your beliefs.

So, don’t be discouraged if someone does not accept the gospel message immediately. It is not a personal failure.

That is between the individual and Heavenly Father.

Yours is to love God and love your neighbors, His children.

Believe, love, do.

Follow this path, and God will work miracles through you to bless His precious children.

This will help you to do what disciples of Jesus Christ have done since ancient times. His gospel and His Church are an important part of your life and of who you are and what you do. Therefore, invite others to come and see and come and help, and God will do His saving work, and they will come and stay.

We are all part of the gathering of Israel!  Our Heavenly Father knows and loves us and will bless us as we strive to live and share the gospel.

Ward Mission Message

I’d like to share a quote with you from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland which is the following statement:  But perhaps even more important than speaking is listening. These people are not lifeless objects disguised as a baptismal statistic.  They are children of God, our brothers and sisters, and they need what we have.  Be genuine. Reach out sincerely.  Ask these friends what matters most to them.  What do they cherish, and what do they hold dear?  And then listen.

If the setting is right you might ask what their fears are, what they yearn for, or what they feel is missing in their lives. I promise you that something in what they say will always highlight a truth of the gospel about which you can bear testimony and about which you can offer more.

I really like his message in teaching us how to share gospel messages.  I truly feel like what he said is that we need to be genuine to people that we come in contact with that aren’t members or inactive in the church.  We should try and be a friend and listen to what they say and we will hear things that the spirit will testify to us that we should share our testimony about.  (Brother Mike Major)

Ward Mission Message

Alma 17:9  "...and they fasted much and aprayed much that the Lord would grant unto them a portion of his Spirit to go with them, and abide with them, that they might be an binstrument in the hands of God to bring, if it were possible, their brethren, the Lamanites, to the knowledge of the truth..."  I was pondering how we can be guided in our efforts to bring our "brethren'' to the Gospel and this verse came into my mind. I know that through prayer and fasting we can have "a portion of his Spirit" with us to guide and present us with missionary opportunities, as well as the courage to act on them. (Glen Miller)

Ward Mission Message

What an awesome couple of weeks we've had, being able to celebrate Easter and remembering our Lord and savior and the great gifts that He has given us. Having General Conference and being fed and thought by our beloved Prophet and other general authorities and leaders, and our Come, Follow Me studies in which we were able to study about the allegory of the tame and wild olive trees which reminds us that we are all the Lord's servants working in His vineyard and He is with us. Jacob 5:72 "And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored with them;" May I echo the words of Massimo De Feo of the Seventy in our most recent conference  "May we cry our testimony of Him loader than the voices around us in a world that needs to hear more of Jesus Christ not less" I leave with you my witness that I know the Lord loves you.  (Brother Peck)
