The Utah Area Presidency has stated:
“Our communities and our state are best served when a broad representation of Utah citizens fully engage in the election process through caucus meetings, primary and general elections, and other grassroots political activities. All are welcome to attend, and all will benefit from a wide variety of opinions and viewpoints.
“We urge you to be active citizens by registering, exercising your right to vote, and engaging in civic affairs, always demonstrating Christlike love and civility in political discourse in conversation and in social media outreach. Members should also study candidates carefully and vote for those who have demonstrated integrity, ability, and service to others, regardless of party affiliation.
“As an Area Presidency, we are concerned about the low voter turnout in the state of Utah. We plead with you to spend the time needed to become informed about the issues and candidates in this and every election cycle. Each citizen should exercise their opportunity and privilege to vote regardless of predicted results or outcomes. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we have a responsibility to fulfill our civic duty.”
