Relief Society

The October activity will be on October 12th at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Relief Society Room.  The November activity will be on November 9th at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Ward Cultural Hall.

Jan Wheeler is collecting clothing and shoes for an adolescent center in Salt Lake. They need clothing and shoes for youth ages 12-18, all sizes. You may drop off items any time at her garage door or put them in the box provided by the RS room at the church.

Tithing Declaration

Here is the link to sign up for Tithing Declaration for this year.  There are appointments available on September 25th and from 3:00-4:30 every Sunday in October except for conference weekend.

Ward Choir Practice

Ward Choir practice will be held on Sundays at 1:30 after church in the primary room or chapel except for fast Sundays and conference weekend. 

Building Cleaning Assignments

Self-Reliance Devotional

This Sunday, Sept 18 at 7pm at the Stake Center will be a Self-Reliance Devotional for anyone living in the Taylorsville South Stake Area.

The classes that will be offered are:

• Personal Finance
• Finding a better Job
• Starting or Growing My Business
• Emotional Resilience

For our Quarterly Activity we are making decorative Pumpkins

We will be making them on November 9. 10 am and 7 pm

This is a set of two pumpkins (only one set per person)

Sign-up and $6 money deadline is November 1at.

Weekly Update September 11

National Day of Service - September 10th 

The National Day of Service will be held on September 10th from 9:00 a.m. – noon.  Our ward has been assigned the Taylorsville Cemetery at 4575 South Redwood Road.  Duties will be cleaning around headstones using hand clippers and general cleanup.  Please bring the following tools:

·       Hand clippers

·       Rakes

·       Wheelbarrows

·       Gloves

·       Weed Wackers

·       Push brooms

·       Leaf Blowers

The city will provide:

·       Garbage bags

·       Vests for those working around streets

 

There will also be a food drive from on September 10th 9:00 am - noon.  You can drop food off at the ward building or the cemetery.

Remember to bring water to drink. 

Blood Drive

There will be a Stake blood drive on September 15th from 1:30-7:00 p.m. at the ward house, 4932 South 3200 West.  Please sign up at this link red cross blood donation website.

Relief Society

Elaine Wright will be teaching this Sunday from the Worldwide Young Adult Devotional given this past May by  President and Sister Nelson.

Elder and Sister Renlund will speak to all Yound Adults  (but will be great for anyone) during a Worldwide Devotional available for viewing online, beginning this Sunday, September 11.

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE - SEPTEMBER 10TH 

The Stake Presidency has asked our stake to participate in The National Day of Service.  We are combining with two other stakes, the members of St. Matthew's Church and St. Jude's Church, the Taylorsville YSA ward, Taylorsville City employees, and others to provide service to our area.  We are being asked to clean up areas and give food donations for the Taylorsville and surrounding areas.

Remember to bring water to drink

There will also be a food drive at the same time.  You can drop off at the ward building or the cemetery.
