April 29-May 5 (Individual Study)   Mosiah 4-6 "A Mighty Change"

Ward Mission Message

Alma 17:9  "...and they fasted much and aprayed much that the Lord would grant unto them a portion of his Spirit to go with them, and abide with them, that they might be an binstrument in the hands of God to bring, if it were possible, their brethren, the Lamanites, to the knowledge of the truth..."  I was pondering how we can be guided in our efforts to bring our "brethren'' to the Gospel and this verse came into my mind. I know that through prayer and fasting we can have "a portion of his Spirit" with us to guide and present us with missionary opportunities, as well as the courage to act on them. (Glen Miller)

Ward Mission Message

What an awesome couple of weeks we've had, being able to celebrate Easter and remembering our Lord and savior and the great gifts that He has given us. Having General Conference and being fed and thought by our beloved Prophet and other general authorities and leaders, and our Come, Follow Me studies in which we were able to study about the allegory of the tame and wild olive trees which reminds us that we are all the Lord's servants working in His vineyard and He is with us. Jacob 5:72 "And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored with them;" May I echo the words of Massimo De Feo of the Seventy in our most recent conference  "May we cry our testimony of Him loader than the voices around us in a world that needs to hear more of Jesus Christ not less" I leave with you my witness that I know the Lord loves you.  (Brother Peck)

April 8-14 (Individual Study)   Jacob 5-7 "The Lord Labors with Us

Ward Mission Message

I was pondering how life experiences can be similar to missionary work.  When we are born into this world, it takes to time and practice until we learn how to walk, talk and read.  Also, the same to learn new skills.  How to be a good husband, wife, and parents.  The same is true in becoming the best we can be in sharing the gospel.  I would like to share a quote with you relating to this by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf:  The important thing is that you don’t give up.  Keep trying to get it right.  You will eventually become better, happier, and more authentic.  Talking with others about your faith will become normal and natural.  In fact, the gospel will be such an essential, precious part of your lives that it would feel unnatural not to talk about it with others.  That may not happen immediately - it is a lifelong effort.  But it will happen.  (Brother Mike Major)

Ward Mission Message

He Wants In

"I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone
hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person."
REVELATION 3:20 NIV

While we often use this verse as an evangelistic tool, in context it was directed to the Church.  The verb tense suggests that Christ has been standing at the door of our hearts for a long time and He continues to knock.  He is persistent.  Bottom line, He wants to be with us.  So let's just do the obvious thing.  Open the door and make Him a part of our day today.  (Sister Janice Garner)
