Hello all! This is the sister missionaries currently serving in the Taylorsville 2nd Branch! One of our obstacles with helping our friends get to church is finding them rides because many of them do not have cars and the public transportation has less routes on Sunday. We would love if you all can send the link to this document to those in your ward so that we can see who is willing/able to help our friends get rides to and from church. We are hoping to have quite a few people's names so that the rides don't get put on one individual or family. This Sunday, Sept 18 at 7pm at the Stake Center will be a Self-Reliance Devotional for anyone living in the Taylorsville South Stake Area.

Weekly Update September 11

National Day of Service - September 10th 

The National Day of Service will be held on September 10th from 9:00 a.m. – noon.  Our ward has been assigned the Taylorsville Cemetery at 4575 South Redwood Road.  Duties will be cleaning around headstones using hand clippers and general cleanup.  Please bring the following tools:

·       Hand clippers

·       Rakes

·       Wheelbarrows

·       Gloves

·       Weed Wackers

·       Push brooms

·       Leaf Blowers

The city will provide:

·       Garbage bags

·       Vests for those working around streets

 

There will also be a food drive from on September 10th 9:00 am - noon.  You can drop food off at the ward building or the cemetery.

Remember to bring water to drink. 

Blood Drive

There will be a Stake blood drive on September 15th from 1:30-7:00 p.m. at the ward house, 4932 South 3200 West.  Please sign up at this link red cross blood donation website.

NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE - SEPTEMBER 10TH 

The Stake Presidency has asked our stake to participate in The National Day of Service.  We are combining with two other stakes, the members of St. Matthew's Church and St. Jude's Church, the Taylorsville YSA ward, Taylorsville City employees, and others to provide service to our area.  We are being asked to clean up areas and give food donations for the Taylorsville and surrounding areas.

Remember to bring water to drink

There will also be a food drive at the same time.  You can drop off at the ward building or the cemetery.
