Sunday School

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the 23rd Ward. We have been greatly blessed again this year as we have studied scripture and utilized the Come Follow Me tools at home and at church. As a new year approaches we invite each of you to continue to participate in personal and family home study before Sunday School each week. If we can assist you in any way in this great endeavor please let us know.

Your 23rd Ward Sunday School Presidency.

Tithing Settlement

As faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we are asked to obey the law of tithing. The law of tithing is simply stated as one-tenth of all of our income. When faithfully practiced, the law provides us with innumerable blessings and promises. We receive both spiritual and temporal blessings.

Malachi shares the promise of the Lord. "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts" (Malachi 3:10-11).

President James E. Faust said, “One of the great blessings the people of this Church have is to meet with the bishop once each year, settle their tithing, and report that what they had paid in contributions constitutes a tithe."

Bishop Cox will begin meeting with individuals this week to take advantage of this important declaration. Please click on the link below to schedule a time to meet with Bishop Cox.
