WARD BUSINESS:

Brothers and Sisters,

It is that time of the year again to begin the declaration of your tithes. I would like to invite you to meet with me to declare your tithing status and make sure your contribution records are accurate. We are beginning to hold these tithing declaration meetings tomorrow (September 1, 2024) and will continue to hold these meetings through the fall. Please go to the following website to sign up for a meeting with me: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4CAAAF2FA2F8CE9-51013148-tithing#/

Please remember that this is for you as a family (including young children) to attend together, if possible. It is an opportunity to teach your children of the importance of tithing and perhaps an opportunity to strengthen the faith of each individual in your family. If you have any questions, please let me know.

The General Handbook says, “Tithes are holy to the Lord, and members honor Him by paying tithing. This is an expression of faith in God and His promises. Those who pay tithing receive this promise from the Lord: ‘Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it’ (Malachi 3:10).”

I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss this important expression of faith.

Sincerely,

Bishop Kory Cox

ELDERS QUORUM:

RELIEF SOCIETY:

September 22 - "God's Intent is to Bring you Home" by Elder Kearon & "Call, Don't Fall" by Elder Godoy
Prepared not Scared Relief Society Activity
Wednesday October 9, 7pm
in the Relief Society Room

Some Church members opinions are that emergency plans and supplies, food storage, and 72-hour kits must not be important anymore because the Brethren have not spoken recently and extensively about these and related topics in general conference. But repeated admonitions to prepare have been proclaimed by leaders of the Church for decades. The consistency of prophetic counsel over time creates a powerful concert of clarity and a warning volume far louder than solo performances can ever produce.

WARD MISSION MESSAGE:

Elder Patrick Kearon tells us:

Your responsibility is to fulfill the Savior’s charge to take the gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people and to feed His sheep. Determine to serve wholeheartedly in every ward or branch you may live in. There are no earthly medals for service and discipleship. Most of what we do in service to others will never be recognized or honored except by God, who sees it all. So without medals, without honors, we follow the Savior and go about doing good—in our families, in our communities, and in our nations.

We can all be missionaries in our Ward and community and help gather Israel.

  Ken Stevens

WARD CHOIR PRACTICE:

The Choir will be singing in Sacrament meeting on Sept. 29th and will begin practicing each Sunday.    Please meet in the Relief Society room as soon as possible after 2nd hour as our time to practice is limited. We encourage and invite anyone who has the desire to sing to please come join us!

TEMPLE AND FAMILY HISTORY:

I invite you to study again the account of the Savior’s appearance to the Nephites in the Americas, as recorded in 3 Nephi. Not long before that appearance, His voice was heard among the people, including these words of supplication:

“Will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you? Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ extends that same invitation to you today. I plead with you to come unto Him so that He can heal you! He will heal you from sin as you repent. He will heal you from sadness and fear. He will heal you from the wounds of this world.

I know that His power is descending upon His covenant-keeping people.

The Answer is Always Jesus Christ, Pres. Russell M Nelson April 2023

Make an appointment and go to the temple.  :)

Message of Hope

So many wonderful things are ahead. In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen. Between now and the time He returns “with power and great glory,” (Joseph Smith-Matthew 1:36), He will bestow countless privileges, blessings, and miracles upon the faithful.
