WARD BUSINESS:

Brothers and Sisters,

It is that time of the year again to begin the declaration of your tithes. I would like to invite you to meet with me to declare your tithing status and make sure your contribution records are accurate. We will continue to hold these meetings through the fall. Please go to the following website to sign up for a meeting with me:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4CAAAF2FA2F8CE9-52261876-tithing

Please remember that this is for you as a family (including young children) to attend together, if possible. It is an opportunity to teach your children of the importance of tithing and perhaps an opportunity to strengthen the faith of each individual in your family. If you have any questions, please let me know.

The General Handbook says, “Tithes are holy to the Lord, and members honor Him by paying tithing. This is an expression of faith in God and His promises. Those who pay tithing receive this promise from the Lord: ‘Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it’ (Malachi 3:10).”

I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss this important expression of faith.

Sincerely,

Bishop Kory Cox

Thought: “The true gospel of Jesus Christ never led to bigotry. It never led to self-righteousness. It never led to arrogance. The true gospel of Jesus Christ leads to brotherhood, to friendship, to appreciation of others, to respect and kindness and love” (devotional, BYU alumni, 12 Sept. 2000).
