 Stake Conference Meeting Schedule

    We would like to personally invite you to Stake Conference, coming up this weekend. We are pleased to welcome Elder David L. Frischknecht, an Area Seventy, who will be presiding over this conference.

 

     We would love have you join us in person at the Stake Center: 3495 W 4850 S. However, if you have health concerns, please don’t hesitate to join us virtually. Relief Society

Wednesday, January 19^th @ 7:00 is our Relief Society activity with Patriarch Matsumura.  You can attend in person, or it will be available online through the weekly ward Zoom link sent out by Sarah Mumford.  There will be time for questions and answers, so bring any questions you have!  If you attend on Zoom you can ask questions through the chat feature, or you can text questions to Lee Stevens @ 801-558-2591.

January 30^th @ 6:00 p.m. there will be a Stake devotional to begin the Self-Reliance classes.  Two classes will be offered:  Personal Finances and Emotional Resilience.  Grab a friend and attend one of these amazing classes!!

We will be corresponding with the children and youth initiative by setting a goal each month in one of the four categories:  Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, and Social.  This month, set a SPIRITUAL goal that will help you improve your personal revelation by one percent!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As 2022 begins we have a wonderful opportunity to study the Old Testament which sheds so much light on all of our scriptural understanding. This journey will begin with understandings illuminated by portions of the writings of Moses and Abraham, through the inspired writings of the Prophet Joseph Smith in the Pearl of Great Price. There are essential lessons about our relationship to God and answers to important questions about the why of creation, that you don’t want to miss out on in the first lesson.
Please attend with us either in person or virtually this coming Sunday as we attempt to assist you in your home centered, church supported, study of this exciting volume of scripture through the valuable Come Follow Me course of study.

Youth New Years Eve Region Dance

The New Years Eve Region Dance is on December 31st from 8:30 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. at the Taylorsville North Central Stake Center (3120 W 4700S). The dance is Sunday dress attire and the For the Strength of Youth Standards are expected. There is an amazing DJ booked that the teens will love!  We have delicious snacks arranged and an unforgettable countdown planned for midnight.

We will be holding a special sacrament meeting on December 26th. Please invite those you minister to and your neighbors to worship with us. We will only meet for one hour this day.

Tithing Settlement

As faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we are asked to obey the law of tithing. The law of tithing is simply stated as one-tenth of all of our income. When faithfully practiced, the law provides us with innumerable blessings and promises. We receive both spiritual and temporal blessings.

Malachi shares the promise of the Lord. "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts" (Malachi 3:10-11).

President James E. Faust said, “One of the great blessings the people of this Church have is to meet with the bishop once each year, settle their tithing, and report that what they had paid in contributions constitutes a tithe."

Everyone is welcome to our ward choir practice. It will be held every Sunday right after church at 11 to 11:45 in the relief society room. We are currently preparing to sing Silent Night in Sacrament Meeting on December 26.

Ward Temple Days

Missionary Meals

Brothers and Sisters, please remember that the missionaries are now allowed to share a meal with ward members.  On the weekend they are able to share one meal per day with members.  This can be with or without a less-active or nonmember and or for any meal of the day..  During the week they have been asked to share a meal with members if a nonmember or less active member is present preferably before 5 PM.  To date, they have not been invited to share many meals with the members.  Please do not forget our missionaries as they strive to share the gospel with our friends and neighbors.
