If you have anything you want to give away, or if you're in need of something, please post it on our ward Facebook page - Taylorsville 23rd Ward-Inspiration, News, and Events.  Click here to go to the Facebook page.

Temple & Family History

President Russell M. Nelson said “We can be inspired all day long about temple and family history experiences others have had. But we must do something to actually experience the joy ourselves.” He continued, “I invite you to prayerfully consider what kind of sacrifice—preferably a sacrifice of time—you can make [to] do more temple and family history work.”

Come to the Temple and Family History open house on Wednesday August 24th from 7 to 8 pm at the Ward house, and get help with questions you may have.  Find out what to do with those discoveries you get from Family Search.

Ward Party

The Ward Party will be on August 20th at 7:00 p.m. at the Stake Pavilion.  There will be hot dogs with sides, treats, and desserts.  Outdoor and lawn games will be played.  Please bring any outdoor games you would like to play and anything you want for comfort (blankets, umbrellas, lawn chairs, camping chairs).

Emotional Resilience Class

You're invited to be a part of an Emotional Resilience Class which will begin in our ward on August 21st. For more information or to sign up, please contact Kathryn Lyman 801-856-2359, or Gaylene Lesko, or Sandi Adams.  We'd love to have you join us!

National Day of Service - September 10th

The Stake Presidency has asked our stake to participate in The National Day of Service.  We are combining with two other stakes, the members of St. Matthew's Church and St. Jude's Church, the Taylorsville YSA ward, Taylorsville City employees, and others to provide service to our area.  We are being asked to clean up areas and give food donations for the Taylorsville and surrounding areas.

Please save the date of September 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and encourage your organizations to plan to participate in this event.  Each ward will be assigned a specific area to clean, more details will be coming soon.

2022 Mission Plan - Taylorsville 23rd Ward

1.   Ward members should be aware of and reach out to less active and non member neighbors, and to new move-ins. Get to know them, befriend them, be aware of them, and let the ward council know of them. Invite them to see, invite them to serve, and invite them to participate. Be thinking of how members can invite these individuals to the Taylorsville Temple open house.

       Love, Share and Invite

2.  All members should search, ponder, and pray for missionary opportunities as individuals and families, and share those experiences with others during church meetings to encourage and inspire missionary opportunities and follow up on those experiences.

3.    Ward members and youth should attend missionary discussions in person or via zoom.

4.    Ward council and ward missionaries coordinate visits to friends and new members.

5.     Take/make opportunities to fellowship new and returning members.

6.   Encourage new and returning members to participate in Family History research, and to find and take their own family names to the temple as soon as possible. Coordinate with Family History consultants.

7.  Where appropriate, utilize new and returning members in callings or assignments as soon as possible.
